Confidentiality undertaking
Version 2026-08-07.2 · ISERDIndia Analytics, registered Patent & Trade Marks Agents
1. What this covers
Everything you send through this form (the description of your invention,
drawings, data, documents and the fact that you are considering filing)
is treated by ISERDIndia Analytics as your confidential information.
2. What we undertake
We will use what you send only to assess your invention and to advise you
on protecting it. We will not disclose it to anyone outside ISERDIndia,
and we will not use it for our own purposes or for any other client.
3. Who sees it
Your disclosure is accessible to ISERDIndia's registered Patent Agents and the
professionals working on your enquiry, each of whom is bound by the same
duty of confidence and by the professional obligations that apply to
registered agents. ISERDIndia works with two partner firms , Doon Intellectual Property Solutions
and Patentomatic Law Consultancy, whose registered agents may also work
on your matter, and both of which send their own clients to this same
form. Each of them is bound by this undertaking. Nobody
outside these three firms sees it.
4. How long it lasts
This undertaking continues whether or not you go on to engage us, and it
does not end when your enquiry does.
5. What it does not cover
It does not apply to information that is already public, that we already
held before you sent it, that reaches us lawfully from someone else, or
that we are required to disclose by law or by a court or authority.
6. No agent-client relationship yet
Sending this form does not by itself engage us, and nothing in our reply
is legal advice until we are formally engaged and an engagement letter is
in place. We are happy to sign your own NDA instead if you prefer.
Write to info@iserdindia.org .
7. Your data
Your details are stored securely on ISERDIndia's systems and are never
sold or shared for marketing. Under the DPDP Act, 2023 you may withdraw
this consent or ask us to correct or erase your data at any time by
writing to info@iserdindia.org .
8. One thing we ask of you
Do not publish, present, sell or demonstrate the invention before we have
spoken. In India a public disclosure before filing can destroy novelty,
and that is not something an agent can undo afterwards.

I have read the undertaking above and accept it. I understand it takes
effect when I send this form.

Brief abstract *
About 500 words. What the invention is, in plain terms.
Existing state of the art (prior art) *
How this is done today, and by whom. Name the closest products, papers or patents you know of, even roughly. If you have not searched yet, say so and we will.
Drawbacks in the existing art
What the existing solutions fail to do, or do badly. Be specific: cost, speed, accuracy, wear, power draw, safety, ease of use. Each drawback you name here usually becomes an object of the invention below.
Object of the invention
What the invention sets out to achieve, written as aims rather than as description. One line each. For example: the primary object is to provide a water purifier that works without electricity.
Novel and technical features
What here has not been done before, and the technical elements that make it work: components, materials, ranges, steps and how they are arranged. List them one by one rather than as a paragraph. Claims are built from this list, so a feature left out is protection left out.
Detailed description *
How it actually works, start to finish: parts, steps, materials, dimensions and ranges, and how they interact. Put the advantages here too, next to the feature that produces each one. For example: because the candle is replaceable, the unit lasts ten years rather than two. The more concrete this is, the stronger the eventual specification.
Drawings
A rough hand sketch is genuinely useful and does not need to be a
drawing prepared for filing. Number the figures if you can: the
description refers back to those numbers.
Brief description of the drawings
One line per figure. For example: Figure 1 is a sectional view of the
assembled purifier; Figure 2 shows the candle housing separated.
Differences from prior art
If you know of similar earlier work, set it against yours here. This is
usually the fastest way for an agent to see where your claims can sit.
Leave it blank if you have not searched yet. Our
free prior-art search is a reasonable start.

a paper you have written, a datasheet.
