The invention relates to a computer-implemented method for assisting in a cardiac surgical procedure. The method comprises receiving a plurality of imaging data (2) from an imaging device (21), in particular fluoroscopy imaging data from a fluoroscopy imaging device. The method further includes carrying out at least one pre-validation check. The pre-validation check may comprise automatically determining if a cardiac implant (3), in particular a heart valve implant, is included in the imaging data (2). The pre-validation check may comprise automatically determining if a contrast agent in the cardiac region is detected in the imaging data (2). The pre-validation check may comprise automatically determining if a cardiac anatomic feature (4), in particular the non-coronary cusp (N), is included in the imaging data (2) or can be determined based on the imaging data (2). The method comprises providing an output indicative of at least one result (5) of the at least one pre-validation check, in particular of every pre-validation check, preferably a visual output to be displayed on a display (6).
