A bladeless fan assembly, comprising a fan body 1110 having first and second air inlets 1130a, 1130b provided on opposing sides. A motor driven impeller (1150, fig 3) within the fan body generates an air flow, which is received by a nozzle (1200, fig 1) mounted on the fan body. The assembly comprising first and second filter assemblies 1399, comprising respective first and second filter frames (1310, fig 5), each of which supports filter media (1321). The filter frames are respectively mounted on the fan body over the first and second air inlets. A first retention assembly 1500 engages both the first and second filter frame at a first edge of each. The second retention assembly 1500 also engages both the first and second filter frames, at a second edge of each. Preferably, the fan body is cylindrical in shape and each of the filter assemblies are semi-cylindrical in shape.
