A cycle for use by a rider over a terrain surface, the cycle including: a frame having front and rear portions; a seat attached to the frame; a front wheel rotatable about a primary axis and attached to a steering member; a user-operable steering mechanism coupled to the steering member; a rear wheel, rotatably attached to the rear frame portion; a drive mechanism operatively coupled to the front and/or rear wheel; at least one footrest on the front wheel. The steering member is pivotally attached to the front frame portion for rotation about a secondary axis orthogonal to the primary axis. The cycle is configured such that a rider can be seated on the seat in operative contact with the steering mechanism when the cycle is in motion, whilst permitting both feet of the seated rider to reach the terrain surface when the cycle is stationary.
