Provided are an electrolyte, a battery, and an upper cover assembly. The electrolyte includes at least one solvent having a vaporization temperature of the decomposition temperature of an SEI film or below. A battery comprising the electrolyte is a high-safety battery, which can avoid the possibility of thermal runaway of the battery, and fundamentally solves the safety problem of the battery.
