A multi-foldable electronic device may comprise a housing, a flexible display, a display, a plurality of cameras, at least one processor, and a memory for storing instructions. The instructions may cause, when executed individually or collectively by the at least one processor, the multi-foldable electronic device to: acquire a first image through at least one camera among the plurality of cameras by using first application software; identify an event for acquiring a second image by using second application software; and identify candidate cameras to be used for the second application software among the plurality of cameras according to a state of the multi-foldable electronic device on the basis of the identification of the event.
