FILTER AND WATER PURIFIER

Abstract

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To achieve an increase in filtering flow rate, the extension of life and the enhancement of filtering efficiency, in a filter having a porous molded body obtained by molding an adsorbing material, by maximizing the pore size of the porous molded body on the surface thereof on the side of a liquid to be filtered and reducing the same toward the surface thereof on the side of a filtrate. SOLUTION: In a water purifier 1 wherein a columnar block-shaped filter 10 having a hollow part 11 at its center is housed in a cylindrical container 2, the filter 10 comprises a porous molded body formed by bonding a powdery or granular adsorbing material by a binder and the pore size of the porous molded body is largest on the surface thereof on the side of a liquid to be filtered and becomes small toward the surface thereof on the side of a filtrate. The surface of the outer peripheral wall of the filter 10 is covered with the nonwoven fabric 15 protecting the filter 10 and the net 16 holding the same and the inner surface on the side of the hollow part 11 of the filter 10 is covered with a porous plastic pipe 17 for preventing the outflow of the separated adsorbing material.
