Abstract

ABSTARCT FRUCTOSE SPECIFIC BINDING NANOPARTICLE The present Invention provides a novel platform for detection and determination of the amount of fructose in a sample. The novel platform of the present invention is based on the novel gold nano particle characterized in that surface of said gold nanoparticles are modified by functionalization with a fructose specific binding agent. The functionalized gold nanoparticle exhibit Plasmon absorption at 533nm and undergoes a red shift in the Plasmon band from 533-557 nm upon treating with fructose concentrations ranging from 0.5-6mg/ml. The plasmon shift is due to the aggregation of the nano-particles on binding with fructose.
