Abstract

The invention discloses a motor and a horizontal multi-joint robot, the motor comprises a shell, a base, a stator, an end cover, a rotor and an encoder, the base, the shell and the end cover are arranged in sequence, a hollow shaft is arranged on the base and is used for forming an accommodating cavity, one of the stator and the rotor is sleeved outside the hollow shaft, the other one is sleeved outside the stator, and the encoder is arranged in the accommodating cavity. One of the stator and the rotor located on the outer side is connected with the end cover, the encoder is connected with the end cover, at least part of the encoder is located in the containing cavity, and an opening communicated with the containing cavity is formed in the base and/or the end cover so that the containing cavity can be communicated with the outside, and heat generated in the motor can be transmitted to the outside through the containing cavity. Therefore, effective heat dissipation is achieved, the service life of the motor is prolonged, at least part of the encoder is arranged in the containing cavity, it can be guaranteed that the working environment of the encoder is not overheated at the same time, and then the working reliability and stability of the encoder are improved.
