[0001] The invention provides a robotic system (100) for use in surgery, microsurgery or super-microsurgery, comprising: a base unit (10); one or more robot arms (32), and a positioning and suspension system including a beam assembly and a lift mechanism (34). The beam assembly (24) comprises: a first beam (26); a second beam (28); and a C-shaped beam (30), configured to hold the one or more robot arms (32). The rotational axes of the first beam (26), the second beam (28), and the C-shaped beam (30) are parallel to each other. The lift mechanism (34) has a first end connected to the base unit (10) and a second end rotatably connected to the first beam (26), and is configured to move in the upward or downward direction along its translational axis, parallel with respect to the rotational axes of the first beam (26), the second beam (28), and the C-shaped beam (30).
